Despite the weather, which did not deter the public attendance to the Kite Festival and Country Show the attendance, numbers were slightly up on our previous year with an overall attendance of just under 8000 over the two days.
A very big thanks you to all the Clubs and Societies that attended our event to raise awareness and funds for their particular charity.
The Paintings submitted for the competitions were to an extremely high standard and for those who did not collect their prizes and certificates they will be posted out to you shortly. Well done to you all.

The County Show Shield 2010 went to the formation team of Kite flyers ‘Team4mation’ for their amazing stunt kite flying and banter in the main arena on both days, if you missed them this year they will be with us again next year,
Special attractions this year included a Laser Pod; Laser Clay Pigeon Shoot; Rodeos Bull; a Jungle experience for the youngsters; the Water Warriors the best way to explain what this attraction entails is a life size hamster ball on water and the ever popular bungee trampolines to mention but a few.
A very big thanks you to Rowena Briggs for her organisation of the Companion Dog Show.
The Main Arena once again saw the very popular Road Traffic Accident Rescue involving The Humberside Fire And Rescue Service; the Police; Bell Truck Services; Gallows Wood Services and of course Nick Grainger who compared the whole proceedings. A Really big thank you, the numbers around the main arena speaks for themselves in the huge interest this exercise always creates. Hopefully we will see them again next year.

The Birds of Prey included a Golden Eagle and drew the crowds to the main arena. The temporary disappearance of the Hawk
caused a stir in the office as he swooped through the door and settled on the railing next to the Show Secretary who was more than surprised to have such a close encounter, but he was very well behaved and was within a few minutes collected by his Flier and returned to the main arena.
The general public out flew all previous numbers in the Public Flying Arena over 500 people flew kites some with the help of our Kite Doctor who was easy to spot in his white coat.
A very big thank you goes to all the teams who flew in the main kite arena Wigsley Wings; Sky Artists; Midland Kite Fliers; Sky Bums and the North East Kite Fliers, Northern Kite Group and Team4mation.
The Teddy Bear parachuting proved very popular and lots of bears received their certificate of bravery for being brave enough to drop back to earth on a parachute. Well done all you brave teddies.
The Craft Hall had lots on offer with a many and varied selection of goods on offer.
A special thank you to the East Riding Engine Club who had a busy weekend on their stand promoting their own event later in the year on 14th and 15th August again at the Driffield Showground.
The East Riding Thoroughbred Car Club had a marvellous display of classic and vintage cars for everyone to see and a big thank you goes to Ernie Lowther and Ian Lowther for their Stewarding of this section.
Thank to the Driffield Agricultural Society for all their help and advice on the staging of this event.
Lastly thank you to everyone who attended the Festival hope to see you all again next year when the Festival will be held on 1st and 2nd May again at the Showground Driffield.
